An Air Conditioner has three parts to it, the compressor, the condenser, and the evaporator connected to your furnace.
The SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is a seasonal measure for an Air conditioner. The higher the SEER the more savings you receive, unlike the old models with 8 SEER or less, the new models have a SEER rating of 14.5 which allows you to use less Energy The old model Air conditioner R-22 often referred to as Freon

  • As of 2010, R-22 was discontinued for use in new air conditioning systems o The new model Air conditioner R-410A REFRIGERANT often referred to as Puron has been approved for use in new residential air conditioners
  • Is a hydro-fluorocarbon (HFC) which does not contribute to ozone depletion
  • Is the new standard residential air conditioning systems since 2015
